GAVA
Gava is a charming 98 m² apartment located in the vibrant Sagrada Familia neighbourhood in Barcelona, where modern design meets traditional elements. The design of this apartment is centered on honoring the building’s original character while introducing contemporary features that enhance functionality and style. Stunning 3-meter Catalan ceiling and exposed brick walls became a backdrop for a contemporary design elements that are both respectful and modern. The key to this project was creating a space that balances heritage with modern living, providing comfort and tranquility for its residents.
We chose to use natural materials and subtle indirect lighting to maintain a sense of warmth and connection to the Mediterranean surroundings. The apartment features a thoughtfully designed open-plan layout that connects the living area, dining space, and kitchen, creating a seamless flow between these key spaces. A unique three-dimensional art piece that was created in situ, serves as a captivating focal point of the design, adding depth and character to the living area. The highlight of the living area is the large windows that allow natural light to fill the room, creating an airy and spacious feel. A neutral color palette with soft beige and warm tones was chosen to emphasize the relaxed atmosphere.
Throughout the interior design of this apartment, we worked with a thoughtful juxtaposition of shapes and volumes to create a harmonious blend of heritage and modernity. We also used indirect lighting to create a subtle ambiance throughout the apartment, enhancing the calming atmosphere.
The design of Gava is a reflection of the lifestyle that the Mediterranean coast inspires—relaxed, functional, and filled with warmth.
